Aperture Cellars’ founder & winemaker Jesse Katz

We’re so excited to announce our newest winery partner, Aperture Cellars! Aperture’s founder and winemaker is the famous Jesse Katz, winemaker to the stars.

SF Chronicle sums up Jesse’s impressive resume: “He has made custom-label wines for celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Tony Hawk, and Ellen DeGeneres. He worked at Screaming Eagle. He studied in France. He created a malbec that Robert Parker called the best he’d ever tasted.” He was also the first winemaker named to Forbes 30 under 30 and Wine Enthusiast Top 40 under 40. He’s the real deal!

Aperture is Jesse’s own label (and collaboration with his father), started in 2016 with 24 acres of new vineyards. During Jesse's childhood, he and his father traveled the globe together experiencing wine, so it’s only fitting that the two collaborated to create Aperture Cellars.

purple cork fans know how much we love our Bordeaux style wines from Alexander Valley (Blue Rock, Skipstone), and these from Jesse rival some of the best in the world. While Aperture doesn’t seek out accolades, every Aperture vintage of Bordeaux wine has been rated with more than 90 points by the top critics in the wine world, with recent vintages scoring above 97 points.

Jesse has an exceptional team behind him: Lauren Wong, VP Sales and Marketing, and Lauryn Mitrovich, Director of Hospitality. You’ll get to know them virtually, along with their stunning new hospitality space, pictured below. And if you’re in the Healdsburg area, the tasting space is back open by appointment.

We are thrilled to be on board with Kelly and with purple cork! It means so much to be able to connect and share our wines, our story, and our property with new faces who are comfortably and safely enjoying our wines at home.
— Lauryn Mitrovich, Director of Hospitality
