Virtual Table chefs, Miggy and Leevan, will join your group in the kitchen. The chefs have cooked award-winning meals at restaurants like Liholiho, Aziza, Nomica, Pinoy Heritage (now Abacá), and Blue Plate. But don’t be intimidated! Their gift is making cooking fun, approachable and interactive.
Miggy grew up in Manila, Philippines and attended Stanford University. He worked in the corporate tech industry before transitioning into the restaurant industry. Leevan grew up in the SF Bay Area. With his mother’s Chinese heritage, along with his father’s Filipino roots, he had a very tasty childhood. Both chefs love sharing their culture and upbringing through their flavor-packed menus.
This isn’t your average cooking tutorial. Event attendees receive the ingredients in advance, mostly sourced from local Bay Area farms, and then watch every step of the simple cooking instructions in crisp detail. With a cutting-edge video tech setup, Virtual Table uses front, overhead, and macro closeup camera angles to show your group every single step in the clearest possible view. This makes learning a new recipe a breeze!
These events are tried and true. Groups from Apple, Google, Netflix, Lyft and dozens more have come together for hands-on culinary adventures with Miggy and Leevan. Some of their favorite dishes include blueberry mochi pancakes (with special heirloom rice flour from Koda Farms), fried chicken, Liberty Farms duck leg confit, avocado toast, and molten lava cake for you chocolate lovers.
