Introducing Barrel Brothers Brewing Company
While some brothers-in-law just see each other a few times a year during the holidays, Daniel Weber and Wesley Deal buck the trend. With a shared passion for brewing beer, they came together to brew beers that the whole world could enjoy.
While brewing beer is considered serious business to many, the brothers (in-law) take a laid-back approach. Their brewing philosophy isn’t centered around complicated science or artisanal ingredients, although that plays a role. Rather, it’s about fun. They say, “When it comes to making beer, we’re having a blast and just trying not to suck.”
And the approach appears to be working. Sonoma Magazine recently named Barrel Brothers to its list of Best Sonoma Breweries for Fall and Winter Beers, saying, “Frivolity aside, the brothers are serious about their more traditional beers, among them Dark Sarcasm, a porter they describe as the “dark beer for people who don’t like dark beers.”
Whether you visit the Windsor (Sonoma County) taproom, get your beer delivered, find it in stores, or enjoy it during a purple cork tasting, you can’t help but have fun enjoying a Dad Pants pilsner or a Schlurpee sour ale. Daniel says, “When we brainstorm ideas for a new beer, our top priorities are to make the best beer we possibly can and to have fun doing so. If you’re enjoying our beer and you giggle from reading the label, our job is complete.”
You can expect the purple cork tastings to be laid back and uplifting, with a little sarcasm tossed in for fun. Daniel will share some history, wild tales, and some of the pop culture references that he has immortalized in his beers. But, you will also learn enough to be dangerous if you ever find yourself at a job interview at a bar. You’ll learn about lagers, IPAs, pilsners, sours and a thing or two about hops.
Daniel says, “I’m psyched to be working with Kelly and the purple cork team and introduce our beers, and our unique approach to business, with corporate groups that need a buzz and a laugh at the end of a long day.”
