Elan Fayard, Proprietor of Azur Wines

We’re thrilled to welcome our newest winery partner, Azur Wines, to the purple cork family!

Azur was founded in 2007 by Elan Fayard. Having spent several years in Provence, Elan sought to bring that French wine inspiration to Napa. The Vision: to produce terroir specific wines with the world class fruit available in the Napa Valley.

Elan began Azur by introducing one of France’s most elegant wines here in the United States: dry rosé. Not a rosé drinker? This wine will change your tune! It was named “America’s Best” in Vogue Magazine. The grapes are grown specifically for the purpose of making a rosé wine coupled with ancient Provencale methods – and the hard work pays off.

Azur has become just as famous for its limited production red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon from some of Napa’s most prized vineyards. The Sleeping Lady Vineyard is a personal favorite. Elan also makes an allocated, extremely limited production single vineyard label, Empreinte, aptly named as it means Impression or Footprint in French. It will absolutely leave an impression for your next client event or corporate gift.

Rounding out the deliciousness, Elan is a big fan of French Champagne (smart lady) and has two bottlings available from Drappier and Paul Launois. Stock up for those virtual holiday parties! Thom and I are buying a case…

“Wine is a dance between vineyard, climate and grape expression, influenced by the hands of the maker. That's the goal, to make wines that are pure expressions of their environment. Wines with an identity.” -Proprietor, Elan Fayard

These wines are a beautiful expression of the Napa Valley, inspired by the French Riviera, and we can’t wait to see you soon on a Zoom with Elan!
